Epitalon, also spelled Epithalon, is a synthetic four-amino-acid peptide associated with pineal-peptide and aging research. Sources emphasize telomerase activity, telomere length and cellular lifespan, especially findings in cultured human cells. For research use only; not for human or veterinary use.

Epitalon is the tetrapeptide alanine–glutamate–aspartate–glycine, also published under the spelling Epithalon. Umbrella Labs traces its development to work on epithalamin, a pineal-gland extract, and describes it as a defined synthetic peptide used in aging research. The extract and the isolated synthetic sequence are related research concepts, but they are not the same preparation. This matters when interpreting claims that combine evidence from pineal extracts, individual peptides and different experimental models.
In a 2003 paper, Khavinson and colleagues reported that Epithalon induced expression of a telomerase component, increased telomerase activity and lengthened telomeres in cultured human fetal fibroblasts. The authors proposed that these changes could extend the lifespan of cell populations and discussed broader implications for aging. That experimental setting was human-derived cells in culture, rather than a trial demonstrating longer human life. Umbrella also summarizes rodent longevity and tumor findings from the associated research program. The central description supported by these sources is therefore a peptide investigated for regulation of cellular aging processes, with telomerase and telomere maintenance as prominent research themes.
