GHK-Cu is the copper complex of glycyl-histidyl-lysine, a naturally occurring tripeptide. Sources connect it with collagen production, extracellular-matrix remodeling and wound-repair research, underpinning its prominence in skin-focused product descriptions. For research use only; not for human or veterinary use.

GHK-Cu consists of the tripeptide glycyl–histidyl–lysine coordinated with copper. The peptide was identified in human plasma, and its copper-binding behavior is a central part of its identity. Umbrella Labs associates this complex with skin biology, wound repair, collagen synthesis and changes in gene expression. Its catalog description places the material within research on tissue maintenance and regeneration rather than identifying it as a growth-hormone-releasing peptide.
Primary experiments by Maquart and colleagues provide a concrete basis for the matrix-related claims. Their fibroblast-culture work reported increased collagen synthesis with GHK-Cu. In a later rat wound-chamber experiment, the group observed increased accumulation of collagen, other proteins and glycosaminoglycans, with changes in collagen messenger RNA. These findings concern connective-tissue formation in cells and an experimental wound model. They help explain why sellers describe GHK-Cu in terms of skin support and repair, while not being identical to testing a finished cosmetic or a particular research vial in people. The copper-bound complex should also be distinguished from copper-free GHK and from formulations containing other copper salts or additional ingredients.
