SNAP-8, or acetyl octapeptide-3, is a cosmetic-research peptide related to Argireline. Its developer associates SNARE-complex interference with reduced expression-wrinkle depth, based on laboratory assays and a small cosmetic volunteer study. For research use only; not for human or veterinary use.

SNAP-8 is an eight-amino-acid cosmetic peptide developed as an extension of Argireline. Lipotec describes it as resembling a region of SNAP-25, a protein participating in the SNARE machinery that supports neurotransmitter release. The proposed cosmetic mechanism is competition within that machinery, reducing the signaling associated with contraction-related facial lines. This is a peptide-based cosmetic concept, not identity with botulinum toxin.

The developer’s product literature reports biochemical and cell-based activity and a small volunteer evaluation of wrinkle depth. It promotes improvement in expression wrinkles, including lines around the eyes and forehead, and uses a maximum wrinkle-depth reduction figure in its marketing. That maximum should not be confused with the average response or an independently established treatment effect. Umbrella likewise describes cosmetic research and notes the limited independent literature. Importantly, the branded developer material is a formulated cosmetic ingredient solution, whereas Umbrella’s listing describes a lyophilized research vial. Findings obtained with one cosmetic formulation do not automatically characterize a different supplied material or preparation.
