Ipamorelin — 10 mg

$26.24

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide that stimulates the ghrelin/growth-hormone-secretagogue receptor. Published research includes selective growth-hormone release in animal models and a human postoperative bowel-recovery trial. For research use only; not for human or veterinary use.

Ipamorelin is a five-residue synthetic growth-hormone secretagogue developed through a peptide chemistry program at Novo Nordisk. Raun and colleagues reported in 1998 that it stimulated growth-hormone release in primary rat pituitary cells and in animal experiments. Their pharmacological work distinguished its activity from the growth-hormone-releasing-hormone pathway and emphasized selective GH secretion relative to several other hormonal responses. Umbrella Labs summarizes the molecule as a ghrelin-receptor-active peptide and highlights the early rat and pig studies as the basis for its selectivity description.

Ghrelin-receptor signaling also motivated investigation of gastrointestinal motility. Beck and colleagues subsequently conducted a randomized, placebo-controlled phase-two study in adults recovering from bowel resection. The study enrolled 117 patients and assessed recovery using outcomes including tolerance of a standardized solid meal. Although the numerical recovery times differed, the investigators reported no significant differences in the key or secondary efficacy analyses. Consequently, the literature supports two distinct research narratives: endocrine pharmacology demonstrated in experimental systems, and a clinical gastrointestinal-development program whose cited trial did not establish the proposed efficacy benefit.
